Corposense and the Reconstitution of Intelligence under Psychextrics

Beyond IQ: Intelligence as Neurotype Architecture, Not Memory Volume

Modern society has inherited a deeply truncated understanding of intelligence. Intelligence Quotient (IQ), as conventionally measured, has been reduced to a narrow psychological proxy: the ability to retain, recall, and manipulate symbolic information at speeds above population average. While useful for certain administrative or academic sorting functions, this model mistakes performance under test conditions for intelligence itself.
Under psychextrics, intelligence is not a static score, nor a single faculty. It is a fluid, diencephalon-centred phenomenon, emerging from the interaction of neurotype variants distributed across thalamic and hypothalamic systems, expressed through the cortex as a display, not an executive source.
This reconceptualisation gives rise to a more accurate construct: Corposense.
1. Defining Corposense: Intelligence as Innate Functional Orientation
Corposense refers to the genetically imprinted, developmentally revealed capacity of an individual to excel within specific domains of action, perception, and construction—without prior formal training. It is not learned competence; it is pre-cognitive capability.
Where IQ asks how much can you retain?, corposense asks:
- What can your neurobiology naturally architect?
- Where does your nervous system resolve complexity with minimal friction?
- Which forms of meaning, pattern, or material does your body-mind intuitively master?
Corposense explains why:
- One individual can philosophise abstract systems without formal logic training.
- Another can intuitively engineer mechanisms without schooling.
- Another can retain vast narrative memory.
- Another can synchronise rhythm, motion, and space with extraordinary precision.
These are not acquired talents. They are expressions of neurotype convergence.
2. Intelligence under Psychextrics: Neurotypes, Not Scores
Psychextrics rejects the monolithic IQ construct and replaces it with variant-based intelligence arising from combinatory neurotypes.
Each neurotype exists on a spectrum, not a hierarchy. Intelligence emerges when:
- One or more neurotype variants fall above population average in resonance, and
- These variants complement, rather than compete with, one another.
This is why:
- High memory retention alone does not produce innovation.
- Logical reasoning alone does not produce engineering.
- Creativity alone does not produce structure.
Intelligence is architectural, not accumulative.
3. The Diencephalon as the Intelligence Engine
Under psychextrics, intelligence is not cortical in origin. The cortex merely renders what the diencephalon has already synthesised. Key structures include:
A. Thalamic Nuclei (Core Integrators)
- Mediodorsal Nucleus (MD): Governs abstract reasoning, conceptual linking, philosophical synthesis.
- Pulvinar: Pattern recognition, visual-spatial coherence, symbolic abstraction.
- Anterior Thalamic Nuclei: Memory navigation, associative recall, temporal continuity.
- Ventral Lateral & Ventral Anterior Nuclei: Motor planning intelligence, craftsmanship, embodied reasoning.
These nuclei operate on variant sensitivity, not volume.
B. Hippocampal–Thalamic Loop
Memory retention exists on a spectrum, governed not solely by the hippocampus but by its relay efficiency through thalamic nuclei. Exceptional memory is not “more storage,” but higher signal-coherence and retrieval fidelity.
This explains why:
- Some individuals remember everything but understand little.
- Others remember little but construct profoundly.
Memory does not equal intelligence. Memory is one variant expression.
C. Hypothalamic Regulation (HIM–HFI)
Hormonal tone modulates:
- Cognitive stamina.
- Risk tolerance.
- Exploratory drive.
- Moral temperature.
A high-IQ individual in any specified variant-based spectrum with misaligned HIM–HFI may underperform, while a moderate-memory individual with harmonised hormonal architecture may innovate relentlessly.
4. Corposense as the Missing Variable in Human Inequality
Human inequality does not originate in injustice alone—it originates in biological differentiation. Corposense explains why:
- Equal education does not produce equal outcomes.
- Equal opportunity does not produce equal capacity.
- Equal treatment does not mean identical contribution.
This is not a moral failing. It is biological plurality.
Psychextrics reframes inequality as diversity of functional excellence, not deficiency. Corposense is the natural grammar by which societies distribute roles organically—when not distorted by coercive systems.
5. Why IQ-Centric Societies Fail
When societies elevate memory-based IQ as the supreme marker of intelligence:
- Philosophers are mislabelled as impractical.
- Engineers without credentials are dismissed.
- Artisans are underpaid.
- Neurodivergent architects are pathologised.
This creates:
- Educational misalignment.
- Workforce frustration.
- Innovation bottlenecks.
- Psychological alienation.
Understanding of corposense corrects this by aligning people to function, not forcing function into people.
Conclusion: Intelligence Reclaimed from Reductionism
Under psychextrics:
- Intelligence is variant-based, not score-based.
- Memory is one spectrum, not the definition.
- The diencephalon is the architect, the cortex the screen.
- Corposense is the biological compass of human excellence.
To understand intelligence is not to rank humans—it is to place them correctly. And to govern humans effectively is not to standardise them—but to build systems that allow every corposense to function without distortion.
That, ultimately, is a hidden neurobiological reason why psychextrical-method is inevitable in science—and why all systems that ignore corposense eventually collapse.
